WENDY ROCKWELL BROUILLETTE

Wendy Rockwell Brouillette lives in Monteverde, Costa Rica with her husband and four grandchildren. She is President of the International Union for Land Value Taxation (theIU.org) a United Nations NGO having consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council.

Her great grandparents moved from Indiana and Kansas one hundred years ago to be a part of the Fairhope Single Tax experiment in Fairhope, Alabama.  The reason this experiment took place in the South was simply that that is where land was inexpensive.
In 1948 Costa Rica rewrote its constitution eliminating the military at the same time three Quaker boys from Fairhope, Alabama where being released from US prisons for refusing to register for the draft.  In 1951 eleven Quaker families settled up in the mountains of Costa Rica, again where land was cheap enough to afford with the limited economic resources available to them. Her father came along for the adventure.

Today Monteverde is a tourist destination for people from around the world.  Land prices are out of reach.  What an exciting opportunity to demonstrate what happens when Land Values are collected to finance projects.

Her newsletter The IU View at theinternationlunion.substack.com (in English) or wendyrockwell.substack.com (in Spanish).

Quotes from others:

Alanna Hartzok has recognized that the earth is the birthright of all peoples and that prevailing notions of state sovereignty must yield to the new thinking that the only real sovereigns are the people. If we are all to live together in peace and dignity, it must become a reality that the land, the sea, and the air we breathe are a common heritage to serve the basic rights of human kind. – Dr. Benjamin B. Ferencz, Prosecutor, Nuremburg War Crimes Trial, Adjunct Professor of International Law, Pace University

Alanna Hartzok has deeply researched tax issues with equity and ecological sustainability firmly in mind. Her book is a storehouse of wisdom and insights on these and many broader issues relating economics to the larger planetary ecology. Hazel Henderson, author Beyond Globalization and Building a Win-Win World; former President’s Commissioner on Sustainable Development; founder: Ethical Markets TV.

She is one of the few professional economic writers who understands the crises of our age and provides practical solutions. Everyone who cares for the children’s dream must read Alanna’s book.  – Rashmi Mayur, director International Institute for Sustainable Future, India

More and more people are convinced that the only way to a just, prosperous and ecologically sustainable future is to share the value of Earth’s resources more fairly. Alanna Hartzok grounds that conviction in practical proposals and inspires us to do something about it. – James Robertson (London, UK), author, co-founder, The Other Economic Summit and the New Economics Foundation, consultant, European Commission.

CRISTHIAN AREAS MOLINA

Cristhian Areas Molina is a Nicaraguan committed to social change and development. In 2010 he began his studies in International Relations at the Ibero-American University of Science and Technology, the same year in which he also assumed the position of Secretary of Youth Affairs in the Citizen Action Party (PAC). During this time, he dedicated himself to promoting democracy and development, representing young people who shared his vision of a prosperous and peaceful Nicaragua.

In 2014, Henry George’s influential book Progress and Poverty came into his hands, which transformed his vision of the economy and social justice. Inspired by George’s ideas about the monopolization of land and natural resources, Cristhian set two key objectives: Investigate the feasibility of a tax reform based on a Single Tax on the value of land and its resources, and develop a proposal political-economic that could be implemented to verify the positive effects proposed by George.

To strengthen his knowledge in public management and poverty reduction, Cristhian completed a master’s degree in International Trade, a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution, Peace and Development and several specialized courses such as “Public and Fiscal Administration: how a government is managed” taught by the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank), and “Public Financial Management” created by the IMF, and “Local Institutions and Poverty Reduction” with the Universidad Centroamericana UCA.

ERIC REINGARDT

I write articles and make videos reporting on economic policy, rent and landlord news for my news website The Daily Renter. I have an opinion column series called “The Homeless Economist” where I analyze the economy from the ground up and I have been known to sometimes talk shop from the inside of a dumpster.

The Homeless Economist’s mission is to show Americans that our financial system dispossesses us from land and homes, and old ideas like the Henry George single tax on land could transform the political, economic and environmental situation. The tax system is, as author Dominic Frisby called it, “the operating system” with which economic systems are designed by those in power. Housing is also essential in establishing the basic economic right of a people to create their own lives using the opportunities of nature and land.

A member of the Public Revenue Education Council Board, see https://www.trylvt.org/

“We’re all homeless because the rent is too damn high, and land value tax would solve this.”

SHENANDOAH

Shenandoah is a dedicated political advocate committed to revitalizing America through land rights and land value tax philosophy. Growing up in a Maoist gang, Shenandoah was immersed in radical politics from an early age, founding an underground communist cell at just 13. However, after witnessing the dangers of ideological extremism firsthand, he made a life-altering decision at 18 to break free, rebuild their life, and search for a truly just economic system. That search led to Georgism—a philosophy that reignited his passion for justice, equity, and structural change.

Now a leading voice in online political education, Shenandoah leverages community organizing, public speaking, and their thriving Twitch platform to engage young people in conversations about land value taxation, economic justice, and political strategy. Their unique journey—spanning ideological extremes, grassroots activism, and real-world organizing—makes them a   and authentic voice for systemic change. As a speaker, Shenandoah brings sharp political analysis, firsthand experience, and an unshakable commitment to building a Georgist republic despite the challenging modern political landscape.
